I was certified by the American Board of Urology in 1977. This means that I had to take a rigorous examination in two parts to certify me to practice the specialty of Pediatric and Adult Urology.

I served two years of military duty in the Commissioned Corp of the U.S. Public Health Service in Seattle, Washington from 1975 to 1977.

Academia beckoned and I was privileged to serve as Assistant Professor of Urology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine from 1977 to 1987. In addition to the practice of Urology, I taught Medical Students and Urology Residents. I was privileged to work with Roger Barnes, M.D. - who pioneered in transurethral surgery on the prostate and bladder.

I am married and have two daughters.

The practice of medicine is very stimulating, exciting, and challenging. I enjoy learning of the rapid advances and improvements in treating and preventing disease and incorporating them in my practice. One of the many resources for learning is my patients. I think my greatest asset is a willingness to listen to my patients, not only to learn the history of the problem but to get their input into the management of the problem. Patients can teach me a great deal not only in medicine but the enjoyment of living life to the fullest.
